LSU running back Leonard Fournette was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week following another impressive performance against Syracuse, the SEC announced Monday.
Here is the complete list of this week’s top SEC performers:
Leonard Fournette (RB, LSU)
Fournette’s 244-yard rushing performance in LSU’s 34-24 win over Syracuse set a new career high. Fournette was the first player in school history to run for 200 yards in consecutive games, and his 631 yards through the first three games are the most by any player in the past 15 years. Fournette also ran for 100 yards for the sixth straight game.
Richie Brown (LB, Mississippi State)
Brown was all over the field in Mississippi State’s 17-9 win over Auburn. Brown registered a career-high 13 tackles, two sacks and three tackles for loss on Saturday. Twelve of his tackles were solo tackles, and that tied for the most solo tackles in a game by an SEC player in a conference contest this year.
Christian Kirk (WR, Texas A&M)
Kirk had 77 kick return yards and 255 all-purpose yards during the Aggies’ win against Arkansas. He caught eight passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime.
Antonio Callaway (WR, Florida)
Callaway earned Freshman of the Week honors after catching five passes for 112 yards against Tennessee. Callaway was the hero in Florida’s come-from-behind victory over the Vols. He caught the go-ahead 64-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter. Callaway became the second true freshman in Florida history to have a 100-yard receiving game.
Fahn Cooper (OT, Ole Miss)
Cooper’s blocking was a big reason Ole Miss racked up 472 total yards and helped pave the way for running back Jaylen Walton (133 yards rushing).
Cory Johnson (DL, Kentucky)
Johnson’s 11 tackles helped Kentucky knock off No. 25 Missouri. Three of those tackles came on third down.
