The top 20 picks in the 2016 NFL Draft are now set, and the Tennessee Titans are on the clock.
Several SEC players have been projected to be top-20 picks by various NFL mock drafts, and Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil could be the top pick by the Titans. The consensus No. 1 offensive lineman available at this point, Tunsil would be a nice addition to help protect the franchise’s top pick in 2015, quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Here’s the full list of the top 20 picks, with the order set after the results of the games Sunday.
In the most recent SEC Country NFL mock draft, six SEC players were pegged to be top-20 picks, including Tunsil at No. 1 and Ole Miss teammate Laquon Treadwell at No. 2. Treadwell could also be an option for the Titans to give Mariota an elite go-to receiving threat.
Other SEC players who could end up inside the top 20 picks of the 2016 NFL Draft include Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, LSU cornerback Tre’Davious White, UGA linebacker Leonard Floyd and several members of the Alabama defense, including linebacker Reggie Ragland and defensive linemen Ashawn Robinson, Jonathan Allen and Jarran Reed.
Several other SEC prospects could vie for places near the end of the first round, including Florida defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard, Texas A&M offensive lineman Germain Ifedi, LSU offensive lineman Vidal Alexander and Tennessee cornerback Cameron Sutton.
Underclassmen have until Jan. 22 to officially declare for the draft, so there is still some time for several key prospects to decide between pursuing the NFL or spending another year in college.
