With the calendar approaching August, college football season is just around the corner.
SBNation’s Jason Kirk used the preseason media polls as a guide to project the bowl slate, and the SEC came away well represented.
Eleven SEC teams are predicted to go bowling, led by the Crimson Tide getting the opportunity for redemption.
Alabama, which lost last season in the national title game to Clemson, is picked to defeat Southern Cal in the College Football Playoff semifinals (Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1) and then face off with Ohio State in Atlanta for the championship on Jan. 8.
Auburn is projected to play South Florida in the Chick fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1. Georgia is slated to face Miami in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.
Florida is predicted to take on Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1. LSU is tabbed to face Virginia Tech on Dec. 30 in the TaxSlayer Bowl.
In a rematch from last season, Tennessee is picked to square off with Nebraska in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 29. South Carolina is picked to play against Georgia Tech in the Belk Bowl on Dec. 29.
On Dec. 27, Texas A&M is expected to match up with TCU in the Texas Bowl, and Mississippi State is expected to play North Carolina in the Independence Bowl.
Arkansas is predicted to face Houston in the Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 23.
