Kirk Herbstreit was calling a Big 10 game this week. But he took notice of three great SEC performances.
The ESPN commentator had three SEC teams make up his top team performers and gave some extra love to the entire Alabama defense.

Mississippi State scored the big upset of the weekend as they knocked off Texas A&M who was ranked No. 4 in the college football playoff rankings. Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald became the third SEC quarterback in the last 20 years to throw for 200 yards and run for 175, with the other two being Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel.
The Arkansas Razorbacks had a big bounce back performance against the Florida Gators. Two weeks after the Razorbacks were blasted by Auburn, Bret Bielema and came took down the SEC East-leading Gators 31-10 at home. The win pushed Arkansas to bowl eligibility for the third straight year under Bielema.
And lastly, there was the crimson Tide. Alabama held LSU scoreless in the Crimson Tide’s 10-0 win in Death Valley. The Crimson Tide defense forced a turnover and kept Leonard Fournette in check, as the All-SEC running back ran for just 35 yards in the game.
Mississippi State and Alabama play each other this week, while Arkansas takes on LSU.
