Several SEC players had standout weeks. And some of them, were the best players in the country at their positions.
Kendall Blanton of Missouri, Frank Ragnow of Arkansas, Richie Brown of Mississippi State, Ronnie Harrison of Alabama and Christian Kirk of Texas A&M were all named to Pro Football Focus‘ team of the week.
Kirk is on the list for the second week in a row as a punt returner. Kirk had a 93-yard punt return for a touchdown against Mississippi State. Ragnow graded out with an 89.8, the highest grade of any offensive lineman in the country. He helped pave the way for an Arkansas win over Florida.
Harrison was the lone member of the Alabama defense to make the national Team of the Week. He finished with an 85.5 grade.
As for the SEC team of the week, LSU’s Dwayne Thomas finished with a grade higher than Brown, but did not make the national team of the week. Brown’s 90.2 grade was the highest of any defender. Blanton, who caught a touchdown in Missouri’s loss to South Carolina, had the highest grade of any player with a 90.6.
