Soon, President Trump is planning to arrive in Atlanta for the National Championship Game between Alabama and Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
As reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Greg Bluestein, Trump is planning to fly Monday with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue from Nashville, where the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting is taking place. Then Trump is scheduled to arrive at Dobbins Air Reserve Base near Marietta, Ga., at 6 p.m. ET. From there, a motorcade will escort Trump to downtown Atlanta. He’s scheduled to arrive at Mercedes-Benz Stadium a little before 7 p.m. ET.
Gaining a glimpse of Trump at the game might be hard for fans. As Bluestein notes, “The fans who paid top dollar to watch Georgia face Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium may not see the president. But his presence should be obvious.”
Earlier, coaches and players from Alabama and Georgia gave their thoughts about Trump’s plans to attend the game.
