Saturday’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, Ga., will feature No. 2 Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) and No. 18 Florida (10-2, 7-1 SEC), and no two teams have played one another more in this game than these two programs.
And though Florida is 4-3 all-time against Alabama in previous SEC Championship games, Las Vegas doesn’t think Saturday’s contest will be close.
So, SEC Country reached out to a few targets and commits from each program for their predictions on Saturday’s outcome.
Check them out below.
Ben Davis, LB, Gordo (Gordo, Ala.), Undecided — “Alabama over Florida, 35-14. I don’t think Florida’s offense will be able to do very much against Alabama’s defense.”
Marcus Tatum, OL, Mainland (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Undecided — “It’s going to be a close defensive game. Both front sevens are crazy talented.”
Dre Massey, ATH, Mauldin (Mauldin, S.C.), Committed to Florida — “13-10, Florida. Both defenses will show up again, but Florida will pull it out late.”
Jake Fromm, QB, Houston County (Warner Robins, Ga.) Committed to Alabama — “I have Alabama in this one. I predict it’ll be 31-3 because the Alabama defense will dominate a lesser offense in Florida. Henry will rush for 200 (yards) again.”
Mykel Jones, WR, Patterson (Patterson, La.), Undecided — “I have Alabama. They are clicking at the right time of the year and I don’t see them losing anymore.”
Miller Forristall, TE, Cartersville (Cartersville, Ga.), Committed to Alabama — “Alabama 27, Florida 10. Alabama is playing at a high level and their ability to control the line of scrimmage along with an improving (Jacob) Coker will be too much for the Gators.”
Nate McBride, LB, Vidalia Comprehensive (Vidalia, Ga.), Undecided — “Alabama. Just a better football team.”
Markail Benton, LB, Central (Phenix City, Ala.), Undecided — “I think it’ll be a good game.”
