No wonder UGA’s new football coach got on a jet plane right after his introductory press conference on Monday.
The Bulldogs are in a serious fight with the Florida Gators for Jacob Eason, the nation’s No. 2-rated quarterback.
“I’m still committed (to Georgia) but I’m going to have to decide between the two. The positives and negatives and all that stuff,” Eason told his hometown newspaper, HeraldNet.com’s David Krueger.
“Over this year, with Coach Richt getting fired and all that stuff, (Florida) kind of popped up. The coaches have been wanting me to come down for awhile so I came down and I liked it a lot. It’s a great school and a great opportunity there too. It’s going to come down, ultimately, to what I decide and where I feel comfortable.”
The 5-star from Lake Stevens, Wash., has been committed to UGA since July 2014, but he took an official visit to Florida a few days ago for what many thought was a “backup plan.” However, it looks like the Gators are a more serious threat than expected.
