Tennessee gets good news on injury front
Tennessee entered the UGA game with injuries to overcome. There were more to deal with following the game.
Starting right offensive tackle Brett Kendrick (arm) didn’t start the game nor play. Sophomore receiver Marquez North (back) and freshman defensive lineman Kyle Phillips (shoulder) did not play against Bulldogs.
Then, freshman defensive tackle Shy Tuttle left the UGA game in the second half. According to Tennessee coach Butch Jones, all is good with a bye week looming before the Vols face Alabama on Oct. 24.
“We fully anticipate having them back for the Alabama game,” Jones said on WNML on Sunday. “I think this extra week will really, really help them in moving forward. Shy Tuttle is an ankle injury. We’ll know a little bit more (Monday) after he goes through everything. He’s a young man who has been playing really, really well for us.”
Tennessee also expects offensive linemen Mack Crowder (ankle) and Jashon Robertson (ankle) back for the Alabama game, according to The Knoxville News Sentinel’s Dustin Dopirak.
