Texas A&M’s absence from the Associated Press Top 25 was a brief one.
The Aggies are at No. 21 in the latest version of the AP Top 25 after snapping its four-game losing streak with consecutive victories over Ole Miss and Kentucky last week.
Texas A&M appeared to get back on track after a major slump took them from No. 5 in the poll in late January to out of the poll completely last week. The great news for the Aggies is their next three games are against the worst three teams in the SEC. After an awful midseason slump, Texas A&M could gain plenty of momentum entering the SEC Tournament.
The second and final team listed in the AP poll was Kentucky. The Wildcats dropped two spots to No. 16 in the poll. Kentucky’s four-game winning streak was snapped in College Station in an overtime loss to Texas A&M. But Kentucky is still playing the most consistent basketball in the conference. Kentucky will face a difficult finish to the regular season, as they will face four teams fighting for their tournament lives in the homestretch of the regular season.
