Texas A&M and Mississippi State fans need to take a deep breath and stop taking everything so personally, according to Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports. The two programs made his list of the five angriest fan bases in college football, with the Aggies topping the nation in being consistently irate.
Fornelli says that the anger of Mississippi State fans, though, isn’t without justification.
“I get it,” Fornelli wrote. “Last summer, in a different Friday Five, I included Mississippi State as one of the five most disrespected programs in the country. The Bulldogs are typically an afterthought in the SEC West and sometimes within their own state.”
Aggies fans earn the top spot, though, and are called a “comically strange, wonderfully weird group of people,” by Fornelli.
“They get angry over some of the silliest things, can tell you everything you ever wanted to know (and more that you didn’t) about trademark law (the byproduct of supporting a school that sues everybody), and they can do it in a way which makes you wonder if they’re truly mad at you.”
Miami, Louisville and Penn State earned the other three spots on Fornelli’s list.
