Vegas has released its preseason top 25 for college football, and the SEC is well-represented. Well, kind of.
The Golden Nugget’s sports book in Vegas has released data that can allow us to infer their top 25, based off point spreads for 100 games this season that they released on Friday.
It sounds difficult, but Chase Stuart over at footballperspective.com did all the heavy lifting for us: He took the point spread for each game, turned it into a margin of victory and ended up with a set of power ratings based off the data.
In all, Golden Nugget has eight teams listed in its top 25, led by Alabama (because of course). Each of the eight SEC teams ranked in the top 25 are listed below, with their respective rankings.
No. 1: Alabama
No. 3: LSU
No. 6: Tennessee
No. 10: Ole Miss
No. 12: Georgia
No. 20: Auburn
No. 22: Florida
No. 24: Texas A&M
It appears Golden Nugget’s rankings seem to be on par with that from media across the nation.
