Unless you’re an Alabama fan, this bowl season is about pride and a good time.
Though you may have to travel hundreds of miles to catch your favorite SEC team play a meaningless game, sometimes it’s worth it to burn the last of your vacation days in a new place alongside the guys you follow religiously all season.
With that in mind, courtesy of Vivid Seats, here’s a breakdown of ticket prices for each bowl game featuring an SEC program:
No shock here. This is the only game on the list with real stakes. Alabama can continue its perfect season and move on to the national title game with a win against the Huskies in this College Football Playoff semifinal. The get-in-the-door price at the Georgia Dome is a steep $149, while the median price is just above $300. I never would discourage anyone from seeing a game of this magnitude, but given how the Crimson Tide have dismantled everyone this season, and the venue, save your cash for a trip to Tampa and the CFP Championship.
The Commodores aren’t a bowl-season mainstay, so I wouldn’t blame any Vandy fan who makes the trip to Shreveport, La., for this one against NC State of the ACC. With cheap seats going for $6 and median tickets for $58, why not? Besides a decent football game, you can experience some fine dining in the third-largest city in Louisiana.
There’s a clump of games with median tickets going for about $99, and this is the best of the bunch. Not only will you get to see likely Heisman winner Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals but an excited LSU team with newly minted head coach Ed Orgeron also should be fired up for this contest. The cheap seats for this one are $25. Other perks? Orlando isn’t the worst trip to take from Baton Rouge, and it’s easy to make a trip of it with theme parks nearby.
