Part of the reason for the high prices for the LSU-Wisconsin game is because of where it is being played. The Tigers and Badgers will open up the 2016 season in Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.
Five of the seven most expensive tickets are for games being held at neutral sites. Arkansas vs. Texas A&M is the third most expensive matchup between two SEC teams, despite both teams being 8-5 last year. That game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
Alabama and Auburn play in the most expensive game between two SEC teams. A ticket to Iron Bowl on Nov. 26, which is being played in Tuscaloosa, Ala., this year, is going for $483 a ticket, per Rukkus. Auburn-Alabama just edged out LSU-Alabama, which is being played in Baton Rouge, La., this year on Nov. 5. Alabama has won the last five matchups between the two schools.
Alabama has the most games in the top 20, as seven games featuring the Crimson Tide have tickets going for more than $203. From the SEC East, Georgia and Tennessee have four games ranking in the top 20, including the team’s Oct. 1 matchup in Athens, Ga. Tennessee ended Georgia’s five-game winning streak in the series with a 38-31 win in Knoxville last season.
Florida-Georgia is the most expensive matchup between two SEC East teams, as the team’s annually meet in Jacksonville, Fla. The most expensive on-campus matchup between two SEC East teams is Georgia-Tennessee, at $245.
