Nigel Knott is just days removed from receiving in-home visits from both Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
The four-star cornerback from Madison, Miss., said both went as planned. Neither visit deviated from what he was expecting.
“It’s the same thing,” Knott told SEC Country. “I’ve been to both universities and I know what both can offer. They can’t tell me what I already know. It just comes down to talking it through with my family.”
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound senior from Germantown High School is widely considered one of the top players at his position. With that comes several suitors. Knott has reported 28 offers, but he told SEC Country a select few continue to recruit him aggressively.
Aside from Mississippi State and Ole Miss, Knott has cast a large net. He acknowledged USC, Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Texas A&M continue to pursue him. And as he inches closer to February, he’s begun to formulate a better opinion of each school he’s considering. Knott was originally slated to announce his commitment in September.
“Some (program’s) recruiting kind of changes,” Knott said. “It really shows you what number you are on their board.”
As it stands, the four-star prospect says he will wait to announce once he’s finished taking each of his four remaining official visits. His only visit has been to Oregon (Sept. 19). USC, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, FSU and Texas A&M are all vying for an official visit.
Knott is rated as the No. 2 player in Mississippi.
