Chalk an SEC East recruiting victory up for South Carolina’s Will Muschamp.
Defensive tackle Kobe Smith will enroll at South Carolina over Kentucky, according to a tweet sent out by the three-star prospect Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Smith, who is from Archer High School (Lawrenceville, Ga.), has claimed 19 scholarship offers. He was committed to Kentucky until de-committing in late December.
Smith becomes South Carolina’s 20th commitment and the ninth prospect to pledge to the school since Muschamp left Auburn to take over as Gamecocks head coach in early December.
Smith is the No. 45 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 53 prospect in Georgia.
