NFL wide receiver and former LSU star Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the most recognized and talented receivers in the NFL. He’s also one of the most controversial, especially when it comes to his contemporaries.
Before Beckham infamously imploded against the Carolina Panthers and cornerback Josh Norman, earning a one-game suspension, he did the same against the Buffalo Bills. His in-game antics prompted Bills cornerback and former South Carolina Gamecock Stephon Gilmore to call Beckham a “prima donna.”
It appears Beckham can’t help but to continue being incendiary, trading social media jabs with Gilbert, a former SEC star in his own right.
According to Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News, Beckham posted this photo of himself catching a ball against Gilmore in the aforementioned Bills-Giants game, with the caption “It ain’t a moment till you make it…”
Gilmore held Beckham to just five receptions and 38 yards on 12 targets, his second-worst statistical outing of the season. Gilmore responded the only way one could in a social media feud.
Beckham, unable to let the war go, responded by posting another picture, which has since been deleted, with a caption calling Gilmore “irrelevant.”
Gilmore, usually soft-spoken, dropped the hammer on Beckham with his most recent post of the feud, calling out Beckham’s inability to get out of Gilmore’s presses.
While Gilmore and Beckham never shared the field as SEC foes, the rivalry they’re creating in the NFL certainly feels like the two had been going at each other for years, and will for years to come.
