Let this be a lesson to all of NFL players– former LSU LB Deion Jones plays to the whistle.
In the second half of the NFC South content between Jones’ Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers, former Auburn star Cam Newton attempted to run in a two-point conversion. Inexplicably, Newton slowed up as he neared the goal line, perhaps assuming that he was close enough to the line to successfully coast into the end zone.
Newton made it there, but he was met with a vicious hit from Jones in the process:

Newton was removed from the game in the following series to be evaluated for a potential concussion.
Earlier in the contest, Newton was flagged for taunting when he flipped the ball at Jones’ chest.

Things are testy in Atlanta, and it has a decidedly SEC West flavor.
