Kirk Herbstreit was back with more SEC thoughts.
On Saturday, the ESPN analyst had opinions about the league on College GameDay. As always, he delivered a few revealing takes.
Here are some of the highlights from the morning:
— Herbstreit said Alabama must be ready to play against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs showed resilience in beating Texas A&M last Saturday, and Herbstreit said the Crimson Tide could face a test against the Bulldogs.
— Herbstreit is interested to see how Georgia coach Kirby Smart schemes against Auburn’s rushing offense. Given Smart’s history as Alabama’s defensive coordinator, Herbstreit expected Georgia to give the Tigers a test. Smart knows Gus Malzahn’s offense well.
— There was quite a bit of discussion about Alabama’s dominance of late. When asked who can beat Crimson Tide, Herbstreit said, “No one.” He said it will be interesting to see how Alabama fares against the Bulldogs after Mississippi State had success against Texas A&M.
— Herbstreit joined in the laughter when the crew made fun of the SEC East’s mediocrity. There’s a possibility that the division ends in a six-way tie for first place.
