Kirk Herbstreit is never short on opinions.
The ESPN commentator was back Saturday with more thoughts about the SEC while speaking on College GameDay. Check out some of the highlights below:
— Herbstreit said Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to grow with the offense. Herbstreit said the game is slowing down for the player. He added the Alabama defense is as athletic as it has ever been.
— Herbstreit said it’s impossible to know where LSU goes after Les Miles is fired. He wonders if Ed Orgeron will be able to get guys fired up. Herbstreit thinks the team will respond to Orgeron. “He has a way of pushing the buttons,” he said. However, he said he doesn’t think Orgeron will get the job full-time.
— Herbstreit had a few things to say about the Volunteers. He said “the turning point of their season” came in the second half against Florida. He said quarterback Josh Dobbs was the centerpiece of that comeback. On the game with Georgia, he said “this is a must-win” for Tennessee. He thinks they’ll beat Georgia today.
— Herbstreit said quarterback Trevor Knight has stabilized Texas A&M’s offense. He said it’s amazing to watch the Aggies offense.
— Herbstreit poked fun at the atmosphere for Florida vs. Vanderbilt. He said he didn’t think the setting will be very intimidating for the Gators in Nashville.
