Kirk Herbstreit was back with more SEC thoughts.
On Saturday, the ESPN analyst had opinions about the league on College GameDay. As always, he delivered a few revealing takes.
Here are some of the highlights from the morning:
— Herbstreit said today will be a test for Alabama, because Texas A&M can run the football. He said Aggies quarterback Trevor Knight is playing with a bunch of confidence, and Knight could play a big factor in frustrating the Crimson Tide’s defense.
— Herbstreit said Arkansas is finding a bit more balance of late. Still, he said Auburn’s defense is playing great and that the Tigers would give the Razorbacks a tall challenge. “Auburn is starting to find themselves,” Herbstreit said.
— Herbstreit continued the Auburn love, saying he likes what Auburn has done of late. He said he thinks the Tigers will have success against Arkansas’ defense.
— Herbstreit said LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron has an energy about him, and Herbstreit added that Orgeron is a players’ coach. Despite LSU’s recent gains, Herbstreit said the Tigers aren’t doing anything differently. “This team seems to be playing with an edge,” Herbstreit said.
–Herbstreit is high on Ole Miss, saying that the Rebels can potentially win 10 games this season. Still, he wondered about Ole Miss’ frame of mind going into Tiger Stadium on Saturday. “Are the kids engaged?” Herbstreit said.
— Herbstreit picked LSU to beat Ole Miss.
— Herbstreit said Texas A&M needs to spread the ball out against Alabama, but he said Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Hurts will be the difference.
