This late-season rivalry game is void of the implications it usually has, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to play for.
The all-time series record is tied at 55-55-8 and the winner will own the series lead – for at least one season. UGA’s offense got back on track last Saturday in a 27-3 win over a Kentucky team near the bottom of the SEC defensively. Auburn’s defense is similar to Kentucky’s statistically, but has received a boost since starting defensive end Carl Lawson returned from injury.
Below are the national media’s picks for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, but this comes with one disclaimer: The media picked Auburn and UGA to both win their respective divisions at the beginning of the season, and we all know how that turned out.
