The wait is almost over.
Four-star offensive tackle Willie Allen is set to announce his college decision at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday.
Allen, the nation’s No. 15 offensive tackle, is set to decide from LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss and TCU.
The 6-foot-7.5, 300-pound prospect is days removed from his third official visit to LSU. He previously visited TCU on Dec. 4 and UGA on Dec. 11, and was scheduled to visit Ole Miss or Auburn later this month.
Prediction: Different schools have been out in front for Allen throughout the recruiting process. But given the time of this announcement, it is believed that LSU is his clear choice.
The Tigers coaching staff have stuck by Louisiana’s No. 9 prospect throughout what was once a difficult time on the recruiting trail, which is believed to have gone a long way with Allen.
More so, the talented offensive tackle could be in the mix for early playing time at LSU with the Tigers set to lose both of their starting tackles from last season.
LSU is in dire need for help at the tackle position. The team has only two offensive line commits in its 2016 recruiting class — guard Donavaughn Campbell and tackle Jakori Savage. Allen would instantly boost LSU’s class and bring a potential NFL-caliber tackle to Baton Rouge, La. for the future.
