ATLANTA — The pictures back in 2009 showed a very emotional Tim Tebow. The Florida Gators were defeated by the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC championship game.
When asked if Tebow would like one more chance at revenge against Alabama, Tebow laughed.
“No, I’m not about revenge,” Tebow laughed. “They came out and had an awesome game. They had a great gameplan, and they executed for three hours better than we did. I feel like we had a really good team but didn’t show up and play our best that day and they did, so we have to give them a lot of credit. Give Nick Saban and his team a lot of credit. They came out and won it.”
After winning the SEC championship in 2009, Alabama would go on to win the national championship against Texas. One has to wonder, if Florida did win that SEC championship, could college football history have been altered? As we all know, Urban Meyer would only coach one more season at Florida before Will Muschamp took over. It has taken six years since that 2009 game for Florida to reach the SEC title game once again.
