South Carolina picked up a commitment from 3-star wide receiver Tyquan Johnson during the Spurs Up recruiting event Saturday.
It was the third #SpursUp of the day from coach Will Muschamp.
Johnson, who was offered by the Gamecocks earlier this summer, joins 3-star Darius Rush as the second wide receiver pledge for the Class of 2018.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect from Screven County High School (Sylvania, Ga.) committed to South Carolina over offers from Kansas State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
According to the 247Sports composite, Johnson is ranked as the No. 114 wide receiver in the Class of 2018. Rivals ranks him as the No. 57 overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
As a junior, he caught 32 passes for 822 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Left for South Carolina
With two commitments already on board, the Gamecocks 2018 wide receiver class is almost complete. There’s a short list of candidates to take what figures to be the final spot.
- Four-star Josh Vann (Tucker, Ga.)
- Three-star athlete Bryce Thompson (Irmo, S.C.)
- JUCO prospect Ronnie Jamison (Irmo, S.C.)
All three of the remaining targets also visited South Carolina this weekend.
