Three-star cornerback Johnny Dixon left South Carolina last week with plans to return for an official visit the weekend of the Georgia game.
On Wednesday night, the 2019 prospect from Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Fla., tweeted about his change in plans.

“I’m taking [official visits] earlier, to make a decision,” Dixon told SEC Country.
Dixon, who took an unofficial visit to Penn State last Saturday, originally planned to return as an official guest in late September for the Ohio State game. That trip to Happy Valley hasn’t been rescheduled yet.
“He’s a really good coach and he’s been growing his program since he’s been up there,” Dixon said of Muschamp, adding that he shares a “personal connection” with Robinson.
“That’s probably my favorite coach throughout this whole process,” Dixon said.
Alabama, Miami and Ohio State rounded out his recently released top five.
According to the 247Sports composite, Dixon (6-0, 170) is ranked as the No. 35 cornerback in the Class of 2019.
Dixon is the second 2019 cornerback target to pick this weekend for his official visit to South Carolina. Four-star prospect Chris Steele (Bellflower, Calif.) will return for his second trip to see the Gamecocks.
Steele isn’t the only other notable 2019 cornerback recruit with plans to be on campus this weekend. Four-star prospect Jaydon Hill (Madison, Ala.) is scheduled to arrive Thursday and stick around for a couple of days as an unofficial visitor.
