Former South Carolina and current Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery got his chance to live out a baseball fan’s dream by throwing out a first pitch and then leading a crowd in the singing of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” at a Chicago Cubs game Saturday.

Jeffery attended the game at Wrigley Field with Bears coach John Fox, and there presumably was some business being conducted.
Jeffery, who has signed his $14.6 million franchise tag tender but is seeking a long-term contract, did not attend organized team activities this week. The sides must agree to any new deal by July 15, or Jeffery will play out the 2016 campaign at the franchise tag value.
Jeffery looked like he was enjoying his time singing, though he would not be a candidate to go far on “The Voice.” So if he had a big smile on his face, maybe talks went well?
