COLUMBIA, S.C. – On Tuesday, Will Muschamp said Bryan Edwards was fine after a hamstring tweak Saturday against Kentucky.
The South Carolina wide receiver’s status was different on Thursday night’s “Carolina Calls” radio show. Muschamp said the freshman receiver will be a game-time decision along with sophomore Deebo Samuel.
Muschamp said Edwards had hurt his hamstring when he was tackled on USC’s sideline in Lexington.
USC already will be without freshman Randrecous Davis. Redshirt freshman Javon Charleston moved back to wide receiver, Muschamp confirmed Thursday night.
In positive injury news, the Gamecocks are set to get offensive tackle Blake Camper back two weeks earlier than anticipated. Muschamp said the sophomore practiced this week and will play against Texas A&M. Camper started against Mississippi State before suffering a high ankle sprain.
“A guy that played extremely well for us when he was healthy early in the year,” Muschamp said. “It’s great to get him back.”
Chaz Elder (ribs) has practiced this week and will play Saturday, while offensive lineman Donell Stanley still is expected to be out until after the USC bye week on Oct. 15.
Muschamp also confirmed that South Carolina and safety Toure Boyd had parted ways.
