COLUMBIA, S.C. — Senior kicker Elliott Fry set the South Carolina record for scoring on Saturday with a second-quarter extra point, giving him 331 points.
“It’s definitely awesome to be able to break it,” Fry said earlier this week. “But at the end of the day, it’s just a record.”
The senior kicked the record-breaking extra point with 8:39 to play in the second quarter following Jake Bentley’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Rico Dowdle.
Fry tied Collin Mackie’s record of 330 points with a first-quarter extra point after Deebo Samuel’s 6-yard touchdown run.
Fry entered the season with 289 points.
