COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior kicker Elliott Fry tied the South Carolina record for scoring on Saturday when he kicked an extra-point attempt in the first quarter.
“I never had my sights set on being a career points leader,” Fry said Tuesday. “I was just going to come and try to be a successful kicker whenever I could, whether that was (as a) freshman, sophomore, junior or senior.”
Fry tied Collin Mackie’s record of 330 points with the extra point after Deebo Samuel’s 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Mackie’s record has stood since his career from 1987-90.
