Sam Pinckney picked up his first scholarship offer last month during a trip to Columbia for the South Carolina spring game.
On Sunday, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound wide receiver from Greenwood, S.C., created a Twitter account, which he christened with the news of his offer from the Gamecocks.

Head coach Will Muschamp delivered the message to the Class of 2018 prospect, who recently spoke with SEC Country.
“I went to (Muschamp’s) office and sat down with him, with me and my mom. He was just talking to me about how I’m doing and he liked my film. He said he just wanted to give me an offer,” Pinckney said. “He wanted me just to experience everything and don’t rush into it.”
To date, South Carolina is his only offer, but Pinckney did have a solid sophomore campaign: 61 catches for 627 yards and four touchdowns.
Pinckney has visited South Carolina three times.
“It was pretty there,” Pinckney said. “The coaches who I was talking to, they made it like I’m already there, like I’m home.”
Coaches from Clemson and UNC have stopped by Greenwood during the current evaluation period.
“They just talked to me and wanted to see how I was doing, and they want me to come visit the campus,” Pinckney said.
