Three-star defensive tackle Aaron Thompson announced on Twitter that he’s decided to de-commit from Maryland just 11 days after making his initial pledge to the Terrapins public.
“I would like to thank the entire University of Maryland and the coaching staff for the opportunity and their interest in me, but I’ve decided to de-commit and reopen my recruiting,” he tweeted on Monday.
Thompson, the 31st-best defensive tackle in the Class of 2016, took an official visit to South Carolina this past weekend. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound lineman from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will decide between Maryland and the Gamecocks on Signing Day, according to Sleeper Athletes.
