One time known for his big plays, former South Carolina Gamecocks star running back Marcus Lattimore is hitting the big screen.
Lattimore retired from football at just age 23 because of injuries. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers but never was able to play. Now Lattimore is the head football coach at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School in Columbia, S.C.
He plays a role in the movie “Faith’s Song,” which opens Friday, per thestate.com.
Lattimore plays himself, but his character is a pastor who provides guidance to a young girl after her parents are killed in a car crash, per thestate.com.
The movie only will be opening in select theaters in Columbia and will have limited releases — also in Columbia — later.
