Former South Carolina quarterback Dylan Thompson is signing with the Los Angeles Rams, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network haas reported.
Former #49ers QB Dylan Thompson is signing with the Rams today. More QB depth for when Nick Foles departs

Thompson is expected to add quarterback depth to the newly minted Los Angeles Rams behind Jared Goff, the top overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, and Case Keenum. Last year’s starter, and the expected starter for this year Nick Foles has not participated in offseason training activities. Foles is expected to leave the team through a trade or an outright cutting before the season begins.
Thompson played for the San Francisco 49ers last year, and was promoted from the practice squad to the full roster following Colin Kaepernick’s injury.
He did not make the cut this year, when the 49ers added a pair of quarterbacks in the offseason — the team cut him last month.
Thompson will have a long road to make the Rams’ roster with the team already having some quarterbacks in place already.
