Former South Carolina running back Spencer Clark died on Friday, according to The State’s Noah Feit. Clark died at his Columbia, S.C., home after dealing with an illness, according to Feit. He was 58.
Clark played for the Gamecocks from 1976-79 and finished his career with 1,652 carries and 16 touchdowns. He is 22nd on South Carolina’s all-time rushing list. He graduated from South Carolina with a degree in criminal justice, according to Feit. He spent the past 22 years in Columbia as the owner of SVC Consulting Services, LLC.
