Lattimore’s once-promising football career was derailed by a gruesome knee injury suffered in 2012. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and spent his entire first season on the non-football injury list before retiring in 2014.
His career didn’t pan out, but Lattimore has still served as a role model since his retirement. He has held numerous youth football camps and created The Marcus Lattimore Foundation, which is committed to youth development and community programs. Lattimore will remain connected to football and will join the coaching staff at Heathwood Hall Episcopal High School in Columbia, S.C.
