Former South Carolina wide receiver Shaq Davidson will trade in one Gamecocks uniform for another.
On Thursday night, Jacksonville State assistant coach JR Sandlin tweeted that Davidson would be joining his team.

Davidson hinted at his intention to leave the South Carolina program back in February and then made it official when he did not participate in spring practice under new coach Will Muschamp.
Though he is a former 4-star recruit, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Gaffney, S.C. native did not play a snap last season for the Gamecocks. That followed a 2014 campaign in which Davidson tore a ligament in his knee during a preseason practice.
Davidson joins a Jacksonville State team that took Auburn to overtime at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2015.
Jacksonville State will play LSU at Tiger Stadium on Sept. 10.
