Nigel Warrior has maintained a close relationship with South Carolina’s Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson throughout his recruitment.
Both were his lead recruiters during their time with the Auburn Tigers, and the four-star safety admits their arrival to Columbia, S.C., has changed his perception of the program.
But is it enough for Warrior to seriously consider the Gamecocks?
“Well, now it does because the whole coaching staff went to South Carolina,” Warrior said of the coaches’ influence on his perception of the program. “But I can never see myself playing at South Carolina.”
Added Warrior: “Nobody really does unless you’re from there or that’s your home. I can never really see myself going to South Carolina.”
On Sunday, Warrior conceded to SEC Country that he will no longer consider Ohio State or Auburn, two programs he has long held in high regard. It would appear his recruitment is down to LSU, Alabama, UGA and Tennessee.
Warrior is slated to take official visits to LSU (Jan. 15), Alabama (Jan. 22) and Tennessee (Jan. 29).
He is rated as the No. 4 safety in the country.
