South Carolina already has a commitment from 3-star running back Kyshaun Bryan, but the Gamecocks are in the hunt for one more in the 2017 class.
Last week, The Gamecocks coaches scored a visit from 4-star prospect Colin Wilson, the No. 13-ranked running back in the class of 2017.
“It wasn’t even that bad of a ride, it was only like five hours,” Wilson said.
Like Bryan, who’s from Fort Lauderdale, Wilson is from the state of Florida. Wilson, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect was on campus last Monday with a teammate and coaches from Clay High School (Green Cove Springs).

It was Wilson’s first trip to South Carolina.
“The camp was pretty nice. I liked it. It was a nice campus, a lot of stuff to do around there,” he said.
Wilson met Will Muschamp before he was hired to be head coach of the Gamecocks.
“We talked when he was at Auburn. I’ve talked to him a couple of times. He’s a pretty laid-back guy. I like Coach Muschamp,” Wilson said.
Running backs coach Bobby Bentley made a good impression during the on-field camp work.
“He’s a good coach. He was trying to keep coaching you and keeps coaching you, to get it right,” Wilson said.
The travel contingent from Clay stopped by Louisville after they were done in Columbia, S.C. On Thursday, Wilson will visit Notre Dame.
“I’m just trying to see if I go on any other visits, then I’ll come down with a top three or a top five,” he said.
There’s no specific date either, but Wilson does plan to make that announcement before summer is over.
“South Carolina is right up there in the top, near the top of the list,” he said.
Wilson added, “I just like how the school is and the coaches. They’re not up-tight when they talk to you and all that.”
As a junior, Wilson rushed 93 times for 490 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he finished with 218 carries for 1,555 yards and 27 scores.
