South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley was one of 30 players selected to the watch list for the Davey O’Brien Award on Wednesday.
Bentley, a 6-3, 220-pound sophomore from Opelika, Ala., started seven games last year and passed for 1,420 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. He also completed 65.8 percent of his passes, which was the fourth-best single-season completion percentage in South Carolina history.
