After picking up an offer at the Will Muschamp Football Camp on Saturday, four-star linebacker Dax Hollifield now lists South Carolina among his leaders.
The touted 2018 prospect from Shelby, N.C. arrived at Columbia with a double-digit offer sheet that includes Tennessee, Kentucky, Clemson, Virginia Tech and North Carolina.
The Tar Heels and Hokies were his original co-leaders.
“After (Saturday), I’d put South Carolina up there with them,” Hollifield said. “I really like South Carolina.”
The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder tested well during the combine portion of Saturday’s camp, posting a vertical jump of 35 inches and a shuttle time of 4.07. He is rated the No. 2 inside linebacker in the nation for 2018, according to 247Sports.
“I always wanted a South Carolina offer. It’s two hours away and it’s a nice drive down there,” Hollifield said. “I mean, I like it a lot down there. It meant a lot.
“I wanted an offer from the old coaching staff, but they never did. I’m glad this one did, this new coaching staff, because I like them a lot.”
