South Carolina picked up its second commitment of the day on Wednesday when three-star defensive end Davonne Bowen pledged to the Gamecocks.
The 2017 prospect from Woodmont High School (Piedmont, S.C.) went public with the announcement on Twitter.

Earlier this week, after picking up his offer from the Gamecocks, Bowen told SEC Country that South Carolina is one of his top schools.
“To have (Will) Muschamp, the kind of coach that he’s known to be … for him to tell me that he wants me to come play for him and he loves everything about me, that’s something that’s just mind-blowing for me,” he said.
Bowen is the second commitment of the day for the Gamecocks. Defensive end Devonte Wyatt (Towers, Ga.) pulled the trigger in the morning, before leaving campus.
According to the 247Sports composite, Bowen is the No. 65 ranked weak-side defensive end in the Class of 2017. Muschamp believes Bowen could play all four linebacker positions at South Carolina.
