Former South Carolina Gamecocks WR Shaq Roland has a new football team.
The former Gamecock signed with West Georgia (D-II) on Wednesday, the first day of the JUCO signing period. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Roland left South Carolina after the 2014 season. The State reports Roland was most recently enrolled at Winston-Salem State in North Carolina, but was not playing football. He has not played college football since leaving Columbia.
Roland played high school football at Lexington (S.C.). He was Mr. Football for the state of South Carolina in 2011 and the No. 1 recruit in the state in 2012. The former 4-star recruit signed with the Gamecocks in 2012. He played in 29 games at South Carolina from 2012-2014. He has 891 career receiving yards and 10 career touchdowns.
