It didn’t take too long for junior college wide receiver Ronnie Jamison to accept his offer to South Carolina and commit to the Gamecocks.
Jamison committed to South Carolina on Sunday night over offers from Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia State, Idaho, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Miss and UAB.
“It means a lot to me,” Jamison told SEC Country on Saturday morning, “Growing up a Gamecock fan and them just being about 15 minutes from my house, it’s pretty big.”
A 2016 graduate of Irmo (S.C.) High School, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound prospect caught 17 passes for 227 yards and 2 touchdowns as a freshman for Highland Community College. He also returned 10 kicks for 259 yards and a score and 7 punts for 79 yards.
South Carolina entered the weekend with a commitment from 3-star wide receiver Darius Rush. The haul is up to three with Tyquan Johnson and Jamison now on board.
Jamison is also the third JUCO recruit to commit to the Gamecocks, joining defensive tackles Dantrell Barkely (Independence CC) Jabari Ellis (Georgia Military College).
The Gamecocks have added four commitments this weekend, three of whom are for the 2018 class.
As a senior at Irmo, Jamison caught 35 passes for 422 yards and 2 touchdowns.
