Earlier this month, 2017 kicker Jack Driggers announced he had a preferred walk-on offer from South Carolina.
On Saturday, he committed to Duke.
Driggers, who’s ranked by kohlskicking.com as the No. 14 kicker in the Class of 2017, will have a chance to win the starting kickoff job when he arrives to Duke from Leon High School in Tallahassee, Fla.
Last season, Duke’s starting kicker hit just 3 of 10 field goals. Driggers will enroll at Duke as a walk-on, but he has an opportunity to quickly earn a scholarship.
South Carolina is looking to replace all of its specialists in 2017. Kicker Elliott Fry, punter/holder Sean Kelly and long snapper Drew Williams all exhausted their eligibility after last season.
