Marcus Lattimore will be on South Carolina coaching advisory committee
Marcus Lattimore was one of the best to ever play for the Head Ball Coach. Now he’ll play an integral role in finding his successor.
The former South Carolina running back will be one of seven members working on an advisory committee to athletic director Ray Tanner as he searches for the next football coach, according to The State’s Josh Kendall.
In addition to Lattimore, the committee will be comprised of South Carolina provost Joan Gable, Columbia attorney I.S. Leevy Johnson, board of trustees member Gene Warr, Gamecock Club board of directors member Chip Cromer, former coach Ken Wheat and former faculty athletics representative Susie VanHuss.
South Carolina will also use a search firm to aid in the search process. The university hired Eastman & Beaudine of Texas, which has helped schools find more than 30 athletic directors and 20 football and basketball coaches.
