COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin told reporters on Thursday that freshman guard Rakym Felder is still suspended indefinitely.
The fifth-year coach wouldn’t go into further detail about Felder, who was arrested in October on charges of simple assault and resisting arrest.
Felder will pursue the pretrial intervention program.
A 3-star recruit out of Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, N.Y., Felder averaged 16 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds during his senior season in high school.
South Carolina opens the 2016-17 season with an exhibition against Newberry. Tipoff is set for 4:30 Sunday.
