Three South Carolina players will not return for their respective senior seasons.
Running back David Williams, wide receiver Jamari Smith and defensive back Jasper Sasser are no longer part of the Gamecocks’ roster, as announced in a release Wednesday.
Smith graduated in December with a degree in public health, Sasser is slated to graduate in May with a degree in sport and entertainment management and Williams is scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in retail management.
Williams had 56 carries for 239 yards this season, Smith had two carries for 7 yards and Sasser closed with 9 tackles.
“All three of these student-athletes will have earned their degrees at the University of South Carolina,” South Carolina coach Will Muschamp said in a statement. “We appreciate their contributions to the program and wish them the best in the future.”
