South Carolina appears to have lost one of its top offensive targets for its 2016 recruiting class.
247sports.com’s Ryan Bartow is reporting his sources have informed him that in-state wide receiver Bryan Edwards has de-committed from South Carolina. The Conway native is rated as a 4-star recruit and as the nation’s No. 40 receiver for the Class of 2016. 247sports is also reporting Edwards is expected to take an official visit to Clemson this weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 208-pounder had remained committed to South Carolina despite Steve Spurrier’s departure from the program. He visited UGA this summer for its prospect camp. He also told the AJC back then that UGA was his No. 2 school, but Clemson appears to be very much in the picture at this time.
He is rated as the state of South Carolina’s No. 3 prospect.
