South Carolina fans might soon be able to celebrate the national championship won by the women’s basketball team on their cars.
As relayed by The State’s Cassie Cope and Avery G. Wilks, state Sen. Mia McLeod, D-Richland, is prepping a bill this week that would allow the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles “to create and sell special license plates celebrating the national champs.”
There’s a strong chance these special license plates will be seen soon. State lawmakers approved license plates celebrating Clemson’s football and Coastal Carolina’s baseball championship within the past year.
The Gamecocks completed a memorable run through the NCAA Tournament with a victory over Mississippi State in the national championship game on Sunday in Dallas. South Carolina closed the season with a 33-4 record.
